6 Year TARA Study Reveals Massive Microscopic Ocean Life Forms
CNET reported that the hidden life of the ocean was revealed in new giant survey. A team of international scientists has provided an unprecedented look at microscopic life in the ocean.“For three years starting in 2009, the schooner Tara sailed the oceans collecting samples of water. For another three years, researchers analysed those samples. Now, the team has unveiled its findings -- a massive world of microscopic creatures dwelling in seas all around the globe. In a special issue of Science magazine released on May 22, an international, interdisciplinary team of 160 scientists published a series of papers detailing the findings of the Tara expedition,” the media reported.
NASA Selects Instruments for Habitability Search of Jupiter’s Ocean Moon Europa

Washington University Study Focuses on Marine Bacteria Influence on Ocean Algae
The University of Washington communicated that “a common diatom grows faster in the presence of bacteria that release a growth hormone known to benefit plants on land”. The authors of a new report showed that these bacteria exchange material with the diatoms while in turn producing auxin, a well-known hormone made by microbes living around the roots of land plants.
Andres Tropical Storm Forms in the Pacific Ocean
National Service of Meteorology of Mexico SMN reported that the Tropical Storm Andres is formed and located in the Pacific Ocean 1.115 kilometers off Manzanillo, Colima. Winds speed were reported to peak to 65 kilometers and likely to increase.
