Only Pacific Ocean Vent Field Capable Generating Rich Superheated Fluids Discovered
A group of scientists have discovered in the waters of the Gulf of California an important hydrothermal field. The vent field is considered important due to its size. Its location was revealed resting 150 kilometers from La Paz Port, Baja California Sur. Scientists of the Institute of the Bahia de Monterrey Aquarium MBARI led by Dave Clague worked in the study along with Ronald Spelz and other members of the Academy Corps of Coastal Geology of the Faculty of Marine Sciences of the UABAC. The field is located 3.8 thousand meters below surface with temperatures measured ranging from 250 to 290 degrees Celsius. The vents are considered the only vents of the entire Pacific Ocean capable of expelling superheated fluid, rich in carbonate minerals as well as hydrocarbons and other elements. The environmental ecology is reported to be of value.
