Boeing´s 50 Ton Echo Voyager Takes Underwater Voyage Seriously  
On March 21 Wired reported on the new ROV of Boeing capable of taking on 7.5 thousand miles of underwater route. The Echo Voyager can spend six months underwater and has full autonomy requiring no ship. It runs on Lithium batteries which recharge from time to time by gassing up a diesel engine. The ROV weighs 50 tons.

New Study Says 30% of Global Ocean Protection Benefits All Sectors
Science Daily reported on March 21 on a new study which assures that protecting at least 30% of the World Oceans benefits Fishermen and Stakeholders in all sectors. The study of the University of York assures that currently only 6% of the global oceans are set aside in MPAs. 

“Ocean Acidification Opaquing Ocean Natural Acoustic,” Australia Adelaide Study Concludes
Daily News reported on March 16 on a study of Researchers of the University of Adelaide in Australia which assure that accoustic biological signals decrease when ocean acidity levels increase. Researcher Ivan Nagelkerken and Colleagues focused on the snapping shrimp and after analyzing recordings found that sound levels were much lower in more acidic waters. 

Apex Shark Expeditions Reveals at Nat Geo a Wild and Untouched Ocean World 
On March 17 National Geographic released a series of photographies posted by Chris and Monique Fallows of Apex Shark Expeditions. The team has spent over 20 years and over 3 thousand days at sea exploring marine fauna. Photographs reveal a wild and pristine ocean world. 

NASA New Horizons Sets the Boundaries of the Oceanic Solar Cycle System 
Discovery reported on March 17 on the new findings of NASA which signals to probable under-surface ocean dwelling in the distant planet of Pluto. The flyby of NASA's New Horizons on Pluto has brought forward a wide range of data which is being still analized and is strongly becoming the column and ground base for a water-rich Pluto. Being Pluto among the most distant celestial bodies in the our Solar System the discovery of ocean presence could set the boundaries of the integral Oceanic Solar Cycle System and lead the entire system to a better understanding. 

California on Aphotic Ocean Acidification Domino Shut Down Effect 
On March 18 Science Daily released a new study which assures that ocean acidification is impacting the coastline of California during aphotic hours -nighttime. The new study -based on the most extensive set of measurements ever made in tide pools, suggests that ocean acidification will increasingly put many marine organisms at risk by exacerbating normal changes in ocean chemistry that occur overnight. Acidification is expected to impact organisms which depend on Calcium Carbonate Shells or Skeletons and in turn bring the entire web to a shut down and Domino Collapse Effect reshaping the ecology leaving wide open niches for the taking. 

Local Experts Speaks of Coral Bleaching at Great Barrier Reef 
The Guardian reported on March 21 that coral bleaching in the Great Barrier Reef is at its worse. Professor Justin Marshall Marine Biologist and Neuroscientist spoke about the impacts on the reef over the past 30 years. 

"Can't Protect Something Which You Don't Know Exists,” Ocean Expert says at TED 
TED released a video summary of the talk given by Conservation photographer Thomas Peschak who reveals hidden ocean ecosystems at its peak beauty. "You can't love something and become a champion for it if you don't know it exists," Peschak said. 

New Zealand Kermadec Ocean Sanctuary to Court for Previous Consultation Rights Case
A Legal challenge has been brought up against the recently created Marine Sanctuary of Kermadec in New Zealand. “Maori Fisheries Trust Te Ohu Kaimoana took legal action against the government's establishment of the ocean sanctuary based on previous consultation rights,” New Zealand press reported March 20.  

NASA Jason 3 Satellite Return on Investment Kicking Off with Historical El Niño
Space Flight Now reported on March 19 that the NASA Satellite Jason 3 -put into orbit by Space X two months ago is already returning valuable data. The media reported that the Jason 3 instruments have registered this year´s El Niño in its full glory. 

Bells Beach to Provide Answers to 2016 WSL Elite Championship Tour Season 
World Surf League WSL Stop 2 of the Elite Championship Tour with dates set from March 24 to April 5 calls from Australia for one of the oldest contests in the country´s Surf History. The Rip Curl Pro Bells Men and Women at Bells Beach Victoria Australia will provide some expected answers to analysts close watching athletes and rankings shifts for the new season. 

Transat 2016 Flies Under “Perfect Baked Partnership”: Tradition Solo Across the Atlantic 
On March 21 Sail World reported that the oldest professional solo racing race -the Transat is under the wings of new sponsorship. A new brand of French inspired bakery goods will take over the Transat 2016. The sponsor is described as a “perfect partnership” due to the strong French tradition which is historically -and still today tied to the race. Bakerly -the US subsidiary of the French industrial food group Norac will sponsor the show of the epic solo transatlantic 2016 edition of the event. 

World Sailing Puts the Breaks on Two Kiteboarding Events 
Sail World reported on March 21 that World Sailing has banned two Kiteboarding Events and set them on the Prohibited Events Lists. Banned events are the inaugural Junior Kitesports Freestyle World Cup set for April 7-10 and the Kitefoil Silver Cup GP World Series set for May 12-16. Those who compete in the events can face a suspension from all events under the control of World Sailing or their own national authority for a period of up to two years - meaning the suspensions would apply beyond the sport of kiteboarding.
