NASA Confirms Massive Frozen Salt Ocean in Jupiter Moon Ganimedes
NASA scientists have confirmed the existence of giant salty ocean in the largest moon of Jupiter. The discovery was made possible thanks to data relayed to Earth by Space Telescope Hubble. Moon Ganimedes ocean surface is frozen. Estimations of volume assure that Ganimedes Ocean homes more water than all Oceans on Earth.

Ocean Crust and Activity Forms New Island in Pacific Ocean
Press reported on the formation of a new island in the Pacific Ocean. The new body of land spans one mile in length. 

Canarias IEO Deploys Argo Profile Buoys Surface to 4 Thousand Meter Operation
Researchers of the Oceanographic Center of Canarias IEO deployed the two first buoy prototypes Argo Profilers as part of a wider project which will measure ocean temperature from surface to 4 thousand meters of depth. EFE reported that buoys are capable of measuring salinity and temperature in continual manner.

Guadalajara University Doctor Wants to Put the Oceans in a Computer
Academics of the University of Guadalajara are giving lectures on the use of computing tools for ocean science. The conference “How to input the Ocean into a Computer” was given by Doctor Federico Ángel Velázquez Muñoz. Expert stated that ocean investigation requires data entry, data calculations, modelling and others. 

Mexico CONAPESCA Sets Norms for Pacific Ocean Shrimp with Productive Sector 
Mexico CONAPESCA National Commission of Aquaculture and Fishery established -working with the productive sector the ban, date and zones of the shrimp season in the Pacific Ocean.

NOAA Annual California Report Sets Pacific Ocean Nutrient Loss to Climate Change 
US NOAA presented findings which assure that consequences are rising due to the heating of the Pacific Ocean. The annual report of the state of the waters in the coast of California adds that the basin is losing nutrients to climate change.

Africa Plateau Unearths 17 Million Year Old Whale Fossil
A 17 million year old whale was unearthed in the African Plateau which rises 1 thousand meters above sea level. The area which was once under ocean waters was the final resting place for the prehistoric whale and its transformation into a preserved fossil. The finding could reveal historical climate change aspects. 

Volvo Ocean Race Off New Zealand Ground Post Pam Cyclone Passing
Volvo Ocean Race reassumed competitions leaving the New Zealand port after being grounded due to the climatic conditions brought forward by Cyclon Pam.

Cyclone Pam Pacific Ocean Passing Causes Deaths and Devastations
The passing of the Cyclone Pam throughout the Pacific Ocean left 14 officially reported deaths in Vanuatu. The Government declared a state of Emergency -Nationally. Unconfirmed reports rose death tolls to over 40.

New evidence shows that the Endeavour Hydrothermal Vents off the coast of Canada´s Vancouver Island could be more geologically active than originally believed. 

NASA Study Signals to Hydrothermal Activity in Saturn´s Moon Ocean 
NASA's Cassini spacecraft has provided scientists the first clear evidence that Saturn’s moon Enceladus exhibits signs of present-day hydrothermal activity which may resemble that seen in the deep oceans on Earth. “The implications of such activity on a world other than our planet open up unprecedented scientific possibilities,” NASA stated. Hydrothermal activity is believed to hold the key role in the creation of the first and more basic life forms.

World Oceans Day 2015 Focuses on Health-Environments and Calls for Action    
World Oceans Day organisation which commemorates the UN recognized day for ocean celebration -set June 8th urged the global community to begin taking action and participating in the events in their own communities. The theme for this year is “Healthy oceans, Healthy planet”.

World Leading Chefs in Spain Say Small Thinking is the Solution 
From San Sebastian Spain Associated Press reported on the message sent to the global community by 20 World Leading Chefs. Chefs campaigned for small thinking. “Impact of large fish stock collapse population can be avoided by consuming smaller fish,” World leading Chefs stated. 

Subduction and Converges of Panama Fracture Causes 6.2 Earthquake Off Chile Ocean 
Chile CBS reported on March 18th that a 6.2 Earthquake struck the ocean west of Concepcion, Chile. The tremor struck along the Nazca Plate. An initial report suggests it hit at a depth of 10 kilometers. The region is an intersection with the “Panama fracture zone” according to the USGS which linked to the event to convergence and subduction processes.

Ocean Ramsey Shark and Marine Conservation Research made a call for the conservation and protection of shark and marine species. 

US Coast Outer Banks Dead Fish Wash Up Leads to Investigation
Press reported hundreds of dead fish washing up along the US Coast of the Outer Banks from from Corolla to Avalon Pier. The event rose speculation. Environmental experts on location took to investigation of the issue. Algae bloom, sonic diversion, extraction, tectonic and geological movement, trophic and chemical alterations were not discarded by local press.

NOAA Okeanos Puerto Rico 2015 Goes Deep to Map Influential Geology 
NOAA Okeanos Profundo 2015 is explorating Ocean Basins of Puerto Rico including seamounts, trenches and troughs. Leg 2 of the expedition in the Caribbean will obtain high-resolution mapping of areas near Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico Trench as well as other information key for the understanding of the Caribbean cycles and their impact on US and global contribution.

China Jiaolong Manned Submersible Takes to Trench Expedition 
“China's deep-sea manned submersible Jiaolong has concluded a 120-day expedition in the southwest Indian Ocean”, its mission commander said on Monday. Hydrothermal vent areas, deep-sea biodiversity and other data were focus of interest. New hydrothermal vents were discovered as well as deep sea fissures emitting hot water. Next in line Jialong has set agenda to dive into the Northwest Pacific Ocean set June to August in the busy Mariana Trench.
