The WSL machinery is well oiled and set for the pipe pump. QS riders are emerging and meeting the final rankings while Elite Surfers breathe it in to give it all in for the end of the season.
WSL assures that to keep the balance “fair” there will be more events for new riders to escalate to the top Elite.
"The WSL is introducing a new JQS Series of events in Australasia, providing a stronger platform for young men and women surfers to qualify for the World Junior Championship, where, if they perform, they will gain valuable seeding benefits to kick-start their path through the QS to the CT," WSL opened opportunities.
In Hawaii where the final Pipe Masters event will define who is the 2015 World Champion a QS Event made wonderful noise. Surfers battled in the QS event to make points in the final events of the year. Haleiwa Wade Carmichael from Australia took victory at the event Hawaiian Pro.
“Australian Dark Horse Wade Carmichael powered from Round 1 to claim a win at the Hawaiian Pro, and in so doing catapulted from 59 to 13 on the World Surf League Qualifying Series ratings. This is clearly the biggest result of his career,” WSL stated. Carmichael brought down Number 2 of the Elite World Ranking Felipe Toledo from Brazil. Another big name which surfed for points at Hawaiian Pro was Gabriel Medina which put on his own show.
Another spot for the final stop of the WSL Elite 2015 Tour was given to non-other than Bruce Irons from Hawaii. Irons -former Elite tour competitor and Pipe Masters Champion was allocated a position in the Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory for Andy Irons. Pipe Masters is the final stop of 2015.
"I'm so honored to be given the opportunity to compete in the Pipe Masters in memory of my brother," Irons said.
WSL warned its riders that the final stop is “drawing near” and that the World Title is for “Showdown and Up Close”.
“Nearly 10 months ago in Australia, the best 34 surfers in the world began a journey, and the legendary North Shore of Oahu is where it will all come to an end in the biggest battle of the year,” WSL inspired the riders.
The 2015 Elite Surf World Tour will come to an end only to restart again in 2016 but the conclusion of this year's tour promises adrenaline.
Elite surfers will have to harmonize with Hawaii's heaviest barrel at the 2015 Billabong Pipe Masters. WSL live app of the event is set to be on fire around the World with massive viewers logging in from every point of the Globe.
Who Could Win It All? WSL has six big names for that question. World Number 1 Mick Fanning from Australia, N. 7 Julian Wilson also from Australia, N. 5 Owen Wright, N. 4 Gabriel Medina and Numbers 3 and 2 Adriano de Souza and Felipe Toledo part of the Brazilian Storm riders are the names which WSL uses to answer the question. But...the real question is still to be answered out on the water, no doubt it will be a big show. To know who will take the 2015 World Champion and how incredible can surf be at its highest level of competition one will have to tune in...WSL...Hawaii...Pipe Masters.
